Please make plans to join the Clemson Alumni Band for the 42nd annual First Friday Parade, on the evening of Friday September 9, 2016. This is one of the best events of the year as we march downhill from the President’s house toward the Esso Club. The crowd is always large and loves to see us every year.
The required attire will be the official CUTBA uniform that was introduced last year at Homecoming:
– The official logo cap – $10.00
– The official logo shirt – $15.00
– Your own khaki pants, shorts, or skirt
If you need to purchase the cap and/or shirt, please do so when you register. (You can pay by credit card on line!) Some caps and shirts will be available for purchase at the parade. However, quantities will be limited and we can only accept cash or check.
Our step off location is yet to be determined but it is usually along the Old Greenville Highway (Hwy 93) near the Calhoun Courts Apartments. Construction in the area may require changes but we will let you know as soon as we hear. Just look for old people carrying band instruments. Plan to be at the location no later than 5 pm. That will give us time to distribute instruments and rehearse Tiger Rag. Yes, even we seasoned veterans need to rehearse (a little).
It is important that you register at cutba.org. We have a few instruments to loan including sousaphones, baritones, trombones, and percussion.
The First Friday Parade is always fun. Please come and be a part of this great Clemson Tradition.
